West Virginia coach Bob Huggins is expected to make a full recovery after being hospitalized for broken ribs during a Las Vegas recruiting trip.

Athletic director Oliver Luck says Huggins fell in his hotel room Friday night and broke four ribs. He was taken to the hospital and held overnight for observation.Luck says he spoke with associate head coach Larry Harrison, who was with Huggins on the trip.

Huggins finalizes 2010 recruiting class

West Virginia head men’s basketball coach Bob Huggins completed his 2010 recruiting class after signing Minnesota’s Mr. Basketball Kevin Noreen.

The 6-foot-10, 220-pound forward from Minneapolis originally signed with Boston College before switching his commitment after BC fired its head coach Al Skinner.

"We are really excited about getting a player of Kevin’s caliber this late in the process," Huggins said in a release. "Kevin is a multi-skilled player who will fit in our system extremely well. With our abundance of physical low post players, Kevin’s skill set should prove very valuable for our team’s future."

Noreen is Minnesota’s all-time scoring leader in high school history. He scored 4,086 career points and had 14 games with more than 40 points and seven with more than 50.

In his senior season at Minnesota Transitions Charter School, Noreen averaged 38.6 points, 16.5 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 3.9 steals and 3.2 blocks per game.

In addition, Noreen guided his team to the 2010 Class A state championship.

if you are implying that Huggins did not need to be in Vegas since his recruiting class is complete, you must realize that the HS tournaments currently being held in LV have soph's and junior's competing.  So he was obviously looking at kids beyond the 2010 class.

Wow, those are some stats on Noreen. What a nice catch for a coach. Sounds like a player for NC or Duke.

Vegas host one of the biggest aau tournaments in the series that go on all summer. I stayed at the Hooters Casino this time last year on vacation. I met Noah Cottrill and his family there. There were 2 teams from WV there. The South Charleston kid was there as well. Magnolia had a 6-8 freshman playing as did GW have a kid too that I met.  Yes, Huggins was there too.

The thing that keeps him from being a UNC or Duke player is probably either a transcript or rap-sheet.

It's kind of odd how Huggins gets hurt. Black eye when he walked into his bathroom door one night, now he fell and broke four ribs in a hotel room. No drinking problem here.
