Doc was could not reply issuing the customary "can't comment on recruitable athletes". Not on roster and have not checked in. Thomas (CB)was a teamate of O the BC transfer at E. Roosvelt H.S. So a connection is there. We will see.

S1uggo, I feel ur pain, but you got to let it go. Ur dealing with a majority here that can't disseminate info logically and like to belittle anyone who takes a position contrary to theirs. Let it go and ignore this board. JoPA's innocence or guilt will hinge on the testimony of the PSU AD provided they shed light on conservation between him and the AD, but currently those on this board are accepting the Freeh suppositions based upon an accused perjurer's account.

So, I take it you think the majority of members on this forum are dumb sh its, correct?  If so, I'm sorry you feel the way you do about this board.  I've always felt this place moderated itself and the tone was set by the members.  I believe we have great posters, great Marshall fans and great people who mke up our little community.  I like it that way.

Correct Wolf regarding this topic. They fail to read the and decipher info regarding this issue. Your the administrator you need to moderate topics from a fair perspective. I'm tired of all the hate. The bullying. PSU is a great school as is Marshall, WVU, Ohio U. etc.. This caused Wisconsin, Colorado, Oklahoma City, Columbine, etc.

Fine no problem with that discourse, but when PSU is referred to as PEDD State and other off color references grinding axes without documentation I'm at a loss. If JoPa knew and caused Curry (AD) to put off the Sandusky investigation in 2001 I've got a lot of crow to eat, but if their conversation never included Paterno's position to tread lightly or back off (as the Freeh Report supposes) Sandusky, then your position and the majority of those involved regarding this thread have done a disservice to JoPa.

(of anal rape in the PSU locker room).  Jerry Sandusky did  bad things, but if you read the Freeh report (not just Freeh's conclusions)  you will see that there is no cover up of anything by the PSU officials.   Freeh reports that PSU (Curley) reported what happed to the person in charge of the Second Mile, at that time Sandusky's employer, and at that time that was the proper place to report the abuse.  Why the Second Mile comes out clean, is the next shoe to drop, as they have had close ties to the current Governor of PA.  Remember this was 2001, the abuse in the Catholic church was not public yet.  Laws and reporting have changed over time.

All this started because I said I did not think Devon Smith would be another Timmy Martin.  I hope he does well, we'll see, but Timmy was a great player for us, Devon can run fast.  And then I started getting the attacks.

All I can say is if the administration in State College, PA has accepted the findings of the Freeh Report and stipulated to its credibility and facts, that's what I'll go by. 

Anyone who wants to drink the blue kool-aid, that's their perrogative.  I'm guessing that they've accepted the report from Freeh as an olive branch to the NCAA to keep them from investigating and finding some serious dirt.

And at the end of this whole thing, it doesn't matter what me or anyone on an MU message board thinks...I've not met one person who doesn't have some tie to that school or an over inflated sense of admiration for Joe Paterno who thinks the school got railroaded.  So in a country of 300M people, the supporters of PENN State are very, very, very few --- if not loud.  The damage is done and I for one am extremely happy that it could take them 8-12 years to be relevant again...until there is an offical investigation that rivals the Freeh Report (not one done by a Pennsylvania newspaper or Penn State grad who wants JoePa's wins re-instated) -- it is Gospel and therefore the penalties were too lite and .........

again when people make statments like these it shows how very very little they know.  Heck if you read Freeh, it tells you that erickson (current prez of PSU) was the one that gave Sandusky acess to the PSU facilities.  There  are no emails between Joe and anyone (if there are show them to me please).  Even in Freeh it shows they mapped out a plan and followed that plan.  At the time the Second Mile was the 'authorities'.  When you read the complete Freeh report we will talk again.

Wolf you run an incredible board, and part of the reason is you allow free flow of opinion almost to a fault. You’re far more tolerant than I would be, however you do establish some guidelines. From time to time you have to modify and refine those guidelines based on how the board evolves. Often times those refinements are in response to board member requests. I for one would suggest it’s time to consider drawing some new guidelines on at least a temporary basis.

Supposedly this is a Marshall specific board. Some would maintain it’s a Marshall sports specific board. You’ve created at least two forums on the board for those who want to discuss other topics, or to move threads to when they deviate too far from the intent of the board. I don’t believe the Penn State child abuse scandal is genuinely a Herd related issue. Whether Paterno is the devil incarnate or a virtuous man who made a major error in judgment, may be a justifiable topic of debate; it really doesn’t have a significant Herd related link. When an athlete is considering transferring to Marshall it’s Herd related regardless of why or where they’re coming from. I think it’s time you start insisting that posters on this this forum stop posting Penn State child abuse threads on this forum. Whatever your opinion is on the subject, I don’t think any thing anyone says is going to change anyone else’s mind. If they want to post on the other forums, fine, but not on this board. If they hijack threads the way this one has been hijacked, give them time outs.

I fully understand it. Maybe you should try herdnation. I hear they have great discussions are are whipped right on topic over there. If you don't like the product, don't use it. If you don't like reading people discussing aomething you don't want to discuss, DON'T read the whole post, and don't discuss it. Don't go back to the thread. If you don't like a song on the radio, change the station. If you don't like a restaurant, don't eat there. I can go on for days.... I feel the majority of everyone here loves herdfans, and the freedom it gives posters. It is inappropriate to try to have someone else on a message board change the discussion they are having because "you don't like it" or you feel ita off topic. Move on down the thread, or discuss the transfers with others talking about the players and ignore the others.


As for the players, i hear they are locked up but Doc can't comment until its official. I wouldn't worry about us not getting them at this point.
