HUNTINGTON -- It appears Travon Van's days in a Marshall University football uniform have come to an end.

Marshall head coach Doc Holliday answered questions about the Herd's former starting running back during his Tuesday press conference after a reporter asked about a tweet Van sent from his Twitter account that said he had been granted a release.

Holliday denied Van had been granted a release from the school, but added the two sides will talk about his circumstances once the season is complete.

"I have not signed any release, if that's the case, but we'll deal with that once the season is over," Holliday said. "He and I will need to sit down and talk at some point to see if that's the case. Travon is a great kid. His Mom has some personal issues health-wise that are extremely tough."
