One, the game is usually close, as five of the nine meetings between the two schools have been settled by five points or less. Two, Marshall usually finds a way to get the win. Tonight, both of those happened once again. In a game with a season high 21 lead changes and 11 ties, the Marshall men’s basketball team sank 10-of-11 free throws in the final nine minutes of the game to defeat Rice for the fourth-straight time, 71-70, Wednesday night at the Cam Henderson Center.
