The Herd golf team is playing pretty well this season. A runner-up finish in this past tournament is pretty impressive, no matter what caliber the field might have been. Obviously, this new coach is doing something right and should be commended!

Nathan Kerns led the Marshall University men's golf team to a runner-up finish at the 11-team Davidson College Invitational.
Davidson won the 36-hole tournament at River Run Country Club with a 20-over-par total of 596. Marshall shot 600.
Sam Echikson from the Davidson Wildcats took medalist honors with a 72 in the final round Tuesday and a 1-over total of 145.
Kerns tied for third place with rounds of 71 and 76 for a 3-over 147.
Other Thundering Herd players were Brian Anania 73 -- 150, Jeremy Rogers 77 -- 150, Logan Lagodich 76 -- 152 and Jake Miller 81 -- 166.
Marshall's next event is the Pinehurst Intercollegiate beginning Sunday in Pinehurst, N.C.
