Topic: HZ: Kane Named All-Conference USA

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Junior guard DeAndre Kane was named to the All-Conference USA Second Team, announced Monday by the conference office.

Kane successfully made the transition from the wing to point guard this season and led the conference with 7.1 assists per game, a number that ranks eighth nationally. He also ranks 10th in scoring (14.9), third in steals (1.8 ) and sixth in assists/turnover ratio (1.7).

Kane has been a workhorse for the Thundering Herd (13-18, 6-10 C-USA), who will face Tulane in the first round of the C-USA Championships on Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. ET, leading the conference with 37.2 minutes played.

After his triple-double in a 103-100 double-overtime loss at Hofstra, Kane was named Conference USA Player of the Week for his 33 point, 11 rebound and 10 assist performance. It was one of three double-doubles for him this season.

Don't really understand this.  How is Kane second team?  He has more PPG, more Rebounds PG, More steals PG, and more Assists PG than Joe Jackson.

I guess that is what happens when your team sucks.

the dense crowd just simply can't admit they have a personal problem with Kane and it's impacted their judgement of his game.  they've been wrong all year....they either criticize or slam kane or make rediculous sarcastic statements like 84 does above.

If I were you, I'd just keep quiet...you and 3-4 others have looked foolish enough all year with regard to kane.

20 pts, 12 assists, 7 reb and 5 steals at ECU Saturday. That pretty much fills a stat sheet. But blinded by an obvious bias, some on here will still say those numbers aren't enough.

No doubt he has the talent.  Congrats to Kane.  I'd be shocked to see him back for us next year, just a hunch.

In all seriousness.  Congrats to Kane.  Second team sounds about right.  He makes way too many mistakes on the court.  He does have talent but it's erratic.  He might throw down a three pointer one time down the court and then throw up an air ball the next time.  My main problem is that he is very critical of his teammates even when it's his fault.  The whining and dramatic actions on the court drives me crazy.  I wish nothing but the best for him.
