  • Sweet Cherry Wine by Tommy James and the Shondells.  I just read his book, "Me The Mob, and the Music".  A great read for any music fan especially those that like vintage rock.

  • What's bad is that songs out of the 80's are now considered the oldies by the younger generation.

Basically agree, though I'd throw in some Jefferson Airplane too. Definitely some Byrds. Gotta have the master, Bob Dylan. Who could I have left out? Oh yea the Who. And finally I'd close with the Doors.

  • Anything by a group most people have never heard of: The Blues Project. Anything by George Throgood or Jerry Lee Lewis gets my heart pumping. And, of course, the best group ever -- The Beatles.
I like the oldies 50-70s. Tolerate the 80s. Anything else including turd stomping music (country)  blah. But it beats (c)rap and hippety hop music all to heck.

  • 70's and 80's will never be considered oldies. They are and will forever be "classic". Music changed drastically in the late 60's-early 70's from the oldies such as the beach boy's....and that type of music to Black Sabbath, Led Zepplin right on thru Aerosmith, Eagles, Skynyrd and so on. IMO the 70's was the greastest rock era of all time. Music changed like it had NEVER changed before. Those songs and groups will live forever. What great times.
