I was also the first in my extended family to graduate. Had two aunts and mother in attendance. My father who strongly encouraged me to attend a university passed away the summer before my last year.
I recall relief from the grind, was working (a lot) while attending, took five years and a change of major.
But when I think of my mother and two aunts faces, I smile.
That was A LOOONG time ago, 1968. Like TRS was thinking about Viet Nam and other stuff. Was also engaged. Luckily a lot of things happened good for me, thanks to Mother Marshall.
