Coaches don't win games.....Players win games....

The NFL is ran by some pretty bright people and it's not a coincidence that head coaches make 4 million and athletes make 30-40 million....

Coaches assemble and prepare teams and that's very important, but coaches don't win games per se...

I tend to be pretty positive, but I also tend to be pretty realistic realizing that many of our problems have been due to injuries (and arrests) over the past couple of years at key positions.  Not sure I see many places where Doc could have made key adjustments that would have made a difference and even then, I would blame Rippon over Doc (UAB).  He could have gone for two to win the game at ECU last year, but if it hadn't worked, people would still be calling for his head.  Our problem has been lack of speed, depth and talent in the def backfield, lack of depth on the O-Line and people playing out of place at LB, and fundamental tackling, all of which looks to be fixed (hopefully) this year.

Barring injuries at key positions, I see a 9-3 regular season with a solid shot at 10-2, winning the East and going to a bowl game.  I can see us winning the CUSA Championship either at home vs. Rice or at Tulsa having already played them.

I think GS prediction 6-6 is a fair assessment. Herd has had the talent in the past but has failed to deliver.
I say 8-4 or fire everybody.

Time for MU to move forward and get out of 6-6/7-5 neutral

i do think many of our teams hv under achieved going back to 04 but I think our talent is up considerably maybe comparable to late 90s if it pans out
