  • I need it....Or something close....I didn't realize how much it went up or that you have to pay per year to buy an access card.....

Anybody know any "angles" to getting a copy at a discount?  I need excel and word....

For about 3 years, I used excel on a weekly basis for my job....So I was decent at it.   I used it to compare, extract defaulted debtor accounts biased on their probability to re-pay.  I would build databases using comma delimited formats and import them into mass mailings and Credit Bureau reports.    I had macro's set up to run reports and analyze the results.  Not rocket science or anything, but their old methods were two guys thumbing through files with highlighters and handing them to secretaries to type one at time.  Not to mention, they had no idea the end financial results.

Anyway, I said all that to say this, why did they change Excel's format?  It's no where near as user friendly or simple to access functions, as it was a decade ago.  The "Help" function gives you 100 results that you have to weed through.

  • Try www.OpenOffice.org. it's free. My school uses it. It will open word and excel files.
