  • After the walk, i made my way down to the fountain. On the way back, i passed at least 30 ecu fans walking over to visit the fountain. I thanked them all for coming and paying their respects

  • It still amazes me that we have some fans who hate and despise ECU and their fans. From what I have seen and heard, they are a class act in regards to paying their respects to our university and all those who perished in 1970. I've always liked ECU and wish them the best when they move to the AAC next year. Hate to see them leave because we have had some great games with them in football.

Hell, we have fans that hate other Marshall fans.  We have fans that hate our head coach more than anything.

There are about 5 or 6 duds on the conference message board that are very vocal and very obnoxious that seem to taint the group

  • We should  all sing the old 70's song. "Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me."
Marshall 9 wins and a Division Championship over new Bee AAC ECU.

Did they have the better team when they lost to Middle Tennesse State? It's one game. Yeah we got our ass beat today and they were certainly much better on this day. Congrats but that's as far as I'll go. The seasons not one day and we could end up having the better overall season still. When you only deliver 2 of the worst OOC wins and lose to a weak MAC school you did nothing to earn much respect for CUSA, it's hard to then hold that championship as some great accomplishment in turn.

  • Bless his heart. Marshall was clearly dominant and if it hadn't been for the fumble should have lead 31-0. They are nice folks and will do well in Annapolis.

This. I like ECU and their fans for the most part. Like every school, they have a few jerks. That said, I enjoyed the ass kicking we have them.

  • First off, I'm not gloating or bringing this up because we won....I respect ECU and I know they could play us even next week if they had the chance...I'm only bring this up because it made me laugh...

On ECU's board they had a prediction thread and the board Mod offered a free premium membership to any poster that guessed the outcome exactly...

There were about 3-4 dozen predictions, everyone with ECU winning, but the last one....Which simply said "With Marshall's d!ck up our A$s"

  • I like them for the crash memorial but at the same time posters from 2005 or 2006 said they had to listen to drunk student plane crash jokes in Greenville. They are prob no better or worse than anyone elses fans. And that includes ours. Drunks are drunks.

  • Chemstock always shared a balanced prospective.

This win was extrememly satisfying, and if we continue to play this well.. a memorable season for sure.

Let's enjoy this one with the class we expect from others.

    GO HERD!

  • exactly...Chemstock always a welcome visitor...said it several times before today....he brought the news story here when the ECU prof discovered a new spider and named it after Neil Young.

    "Tin soldiers and Nixon coming
     we're finally on our own
this summer I hear the drumming
four dead in Ohio.."                                      Four Dead In Ohio - Neil Young

written ten days after the Kent St shootings(6 months before the crash)

  • The ECU fans we talked to before the game were nice guys.  We wished each other a "good game" and all hoped our separate teams would win.  We all agreed if our team lost, we would root for their in the championship game.  Good folks.

  • Really impressed by the amount of ECU fans in the stands today. They weren't just in their section but scattered throughout. ECU fans will always be my favorite of opposing teams fans. They are always so nice. I never take the ones on the message boards serious. Good luck in the AAC next year Pirate fans.

  • I think knowledgeable fans can differentiate between idiots like StillJonsing and classy ECU fans like Chemstock. Like someone said, every school has a few bad apples.
