By Doug SmockCHARLESTON, W.Va. -- After Marshall got downright flashy in its 74-64 win Tuesday over Western Kentucky, Thundering Herd coach Tom Herrion preached about the team's gritty defense and presented an almost unexpected angle.Seven-foot-2 Yous Mbao didn't have a tall presence on the scoresheet, what with no shots, two rebounds and a block in 11 minutes. Still, Herrion lauded his play on the defensive end, and the havoc he caused underneath. The shot charts illustrate that. After the Hilltoppers missed 11 layups or shots in the lane in the first half, they shied away from shooting underneath. That helped them lay a 6-of-27 egg in the final 20 minutes.Toss in 13 turnovers and a bunch of (made) MU foul shots, and WKU was cooked.
