GRANT TRAYLORHUNTINGTON -- All week long, Marshall players had heard about how the matchup with East Carolina was going to come down to the wire.Players said all the right things throughout the week and remained respectful to their opponent. However, with each reference to a close, high-scoring contest, the fire inside those players -- especially the defense -- was ignited. That inner burning came out as the Herd remained red-hot in all three phases on Friday afternoon en route to a 59-28 win, which was arguably Marshall's most complete and impressive win since the championship days of the late 1990s and early 2000s.
