  • Coach may have wanted to retire, but no way it would be right now.  I won't believe it for a minute.  I could see at the end of last year or after next, BUT NOT RIGHT NOW.  Here are the facts:

    Marshall in a new conference
Marshall to host KSU on a Saturday - could be first sellout
WVU likely to be scheduled soon
    Marshall with no current president
Coach Pruett said himself that health wasn't a concern
    Kueck as the Interim Coach????

The truth is out there, but how can we get it?

  • I'm not sure if this is an exact quote from Pruetts press conference, but if it is what can be made of it...

    Quote
What we're gonna do is stand back here and take a few days off and Mike and I are going to meet in April and see what direction we're going to go in. Right now we're retired.

  • Who is the Mike he is refering to?

  • Looks to me that coach is playing hard ball with the new prez.

And once all them big paying donors clog up the MU phone lines threatening to stop payment, the MU prez will have to decide if he is gonna give Pruett what he wants/needs for the football program or keep his stance and let things go down the tubes.

This drama is not over by a long shot.

  • Should you guys be taken to suggest that Pruett's retirement may be not so different from Michael Jordan's???... given a certain turn of events, that is.

I think you are right DJ, this is just the Kick Off. There is a lot left to be played in this game.

  • Your right DJ.  And I'll go one step further and say the little donors like myself are gonna clog up the lines and demand answers to why the promises haven't been meet.  Pruett was loyal to us and its time the fans step up to the plate for him in this situation.  If we dont raise hell about this situation that will send the wrong message to the pres that its ok to do what they've been doing.

  • I think some of you guys are still looking for the gunman on the grassy knoll.  There does not have to be a conspiracy about this. Perhaps Bob's just ready to hang it up and be done.  I'd like to be in a position to retire at his age.

  • sturt, that's exactly what I'm saying.

What we have here is a pi$$ing contest poker game.

And Pruett just went "ALL IN".

Now it's time for the interim prez to either Call or Fold.

I don't know Farrell from Adam. How the heck did an INTERIM president acquire such incredible power that he could provoke none-less-than Bob Pruett to do this? That's NOT a rhetorical question... I'm clueless how ANYONE with an interim tag wields that kind of authority in ANY venue.

Someone help me see the light here.

  • I think you guys are on to something.  That was a good quote, and post Wolf.  I don't know where, or when this will all come to fruition, but I back Coach all the way.  I know Farrell, and am suprised that he is not more athletically minded than he is.  I thought that was why we had to get rid of Angel.  I know someplace in the line of power, whether it be at the University, or at the statehouse, or in Morgantown, or even all three, something bigtime has been dropped, and Coach wasn't going to put up with it, or did not want to hold back talks if that could be the case.  I have too many thoughts right now for my mind to find precise equivalence for all of my many thoughts.

I don't think this "has" to be over 03/09/05.  What say You?

    GO THUNDERINGHERD!

Just that sentence was enough to throw off the equivalence of my mind, carolina.

  • If Pruett were making a power play, coach Kueck would not have jumped to the front to take over.

IMO Bob is tired...end of story

An interim president doesn't have to wield any power.  He just has to be weak enough to succomb to an already formidible one.  Politics and bureaucrats.  We all have to deal with them.  They just get thicker the higher we climb.
