  • It's strange seeing schools like Costal Carolina, Georgia southern, Nui, WKU, SMU and Florida Atlantic with multiple players DRAFTED to NFL teams....

So are better players choosing smaller schools?

Or are small programs developing these young men into players?

  • Perhaps outstanding players tend to stick out and get noticed on smaller teams.  If one guy is always there making the tackle, he's gonna get noticeable stats moreso than a guy who is part of an entire defense that swarms to the ball.  Vinny Curry would be this kind of player.  You couldn't help but notice him when our defense was so bad but his name got called on every play.  Had he been at Coastal Carolina it would have been even more noticeable.  Maybe not at Alabama.   Just a theory.

  • I've always had that theory. It seems to me, that if I were a 5 start athlete going into college I would definitely be looking at small schools. The NFL sure doesn't care to draft from small schools, and early too.

Yeah, but the teams are getting more than One guy, drafted at a time...that's a little different than a IAA producing 1 draft pick every 15 years...

  • It could be like the herd and when we built championship teams and good players gravitating to our program...regardless of our conference...
