HUNTINGTON -- The City of Huntington released its 2014 paving list Friday. The list represents approximately $1 million in paving projects.

The city has $480,000 remaining in this fiscal year's budget for paving, and $1 million for Fiscal Year 2015, according to a release. According to city officials, the remaining paving funds in next year's fiscal budget will be applied toward the spring 2015 paving program.

The list was created by City Council members submitting requests to Mayor Steve Williams. The Mayor's Office and Public Works partnered with the West Virginia Division of Highways to prioritize the requests based on traffic volume, road conditions and other factors.

The work will be done by West Virginia Paving and begin sometime in June.

Following is a list of paving projects organized by City Council districts. Some paving projects have already been completed. A map of City Council districts is available at bit.ly/1nBq2rR.

District 1

Dundale Avenue from 31st to Court streets.

Handley Road from Piedmont to Waverly roads.

Court Street from Hughes Street to Piedmont Road.

District 2

Madison Avenue from 5th to 8th streets. (Completed)

3rd Street West from Washington to Adams avenues. (Completed)

5th Street West from Madison to 7th avenues.

9th Street West from Washington to Adams avenues.

Virginia Avenue from West 13th to West 14th streets.

Alley between Washington and Adams avenues from 1st Street to the Aldi lot.

District 3

7th Avenue from 1st to 5th streets.

11th Street from 2 1/2 Alley to 3rd Avenue.

2nd Avenue from 17th to 19th streets.

District 4

Harvey Road from Memorial Boulevard to the Good Samaritan United Methodist Church.

Hawthorne Way from South Boulevard to 605 Hawthorne.

2nd Street West from 8th Avenue to the railroad tracks. (Completed)

District 5

9th Avenue from Hal Greer Boulevard to 18th Street.
