By Gary Fauber Assistant Sports EditorHUNTINGTON — First, the good news. Buoyed by Devon Johnson’s record-setting day, Marshall is still undefeated.Whether or not the way it happened was enough to keep voters interested remains to be seen. With the first College Football Playoff rankings set to be released Tuesday evening, that could be the bad news. The Thundering Herd trailed at halftime for the first time this season, but the defense pitched a shutout in the second half. And with Johnson meeting no resistance from the Florida Atlantic defense, Marshall toughed out a 35-16 win Saturday to run its record to 8-0 heading into its second bye week.Marshall, which also put itself in the driver’s seat in the Conference USA East Division race at 4-0, has Johnson to thank for that unblemished mark continuing.
