  • are screwing things up guys!!!!   We need to voice our opinion that football is what got this university to where it is today and they are abandoning that!!!!   This is really pissing me off and if you donate money you have a right to voice your opinion to the school and let them know it is their fault we are not moving forward and that they need to back the athletic program fully or we will suffer!!    We all need to write to the higher ups at Marshall and let them know how we feel!!   If we don't then they won't care about it or even think about it.  They need a reality check!!!!!

  • I did call...and they brushed me off like a feather in a storm. They simply don't care what we think...that is abundantly clear.

By the way, I was very nice and diplomatic on the phone, but it did me no good.

  • Whats the number you called, Jim?  I would love to let them know what I think about the direction the program has decided to take.  I doubt I could be as diplomatic as you were tho.

  • I remember going into the last year of the Greg White era some pretty big donors met with Kayo and told them they were not happy with the direction of the program.  Kayo basically told them to go take a flyin' F.  If he won't listen to the big money people, he sure as heck isn't going to listen to me.

Although, I did send him a very courteous email when it was rumored the K State game was going to get moved.  I politely asked that it not be moved.  Probably just a coincidence that it is not getting moved but at least I feel like I did my part.

  • I heard recently the reason why the game wasnt moved to thurs is because KSU didnt want to play on thurs.  Thats whythere will be no ESPN game for MU vs. KSU.

  • Fine with me.  It still gets me the same result I wanted.

  • Unless I have missed my guess, the great majority of the decisions made at Marshall University are controlled by a group of people who could fit into my office...that is a couple of administrators and a handful of money folks who have been very generous and good stewards.  It's probably not that uncommon, but I think it may not be healthy for the long-term vitaility of the university.  The thing I've seen that I don't care for is that time after time there have been safe harbors created for people whom the Powers that Be decide should stay around after one transgretion or another...and sometimes good people are swept out of the way to allow that to happen.  Bottom lining it, I'm a Marshall fan, I'll always be a Marshall fan, however how things transpire with the program can't help but influence how much money, time and passion I sink into it.  For me, that translates to success on the football field.  Don't care how it happens, just that it does and that we run a clean program.  If we can't do those things, I'll still buy season tix, but I probably won't try so hard to make it to road games and home games that are difficult on my schedule.
