I am not being negative here guys but I really believe that if improvements are not made in terms of facilities and salaries Marshall football as we know it may be a thing of the past. You can only compete on a high level for so long with the type of resources we have. It is sad that we ran off the best coach in MU history because we could not provide him with the tools necessary to stay competitive with other schools whose budget is twice ours.
I just think if the right leadership is not in place soon we could really lose some ground in competition with other schools. Not saying we need the best stuff but much better than what we have. You have to invest in what got you where you are and Pruett preached that almost every time you heard him speak and I really think this was the factor in his retirement. MU had no commitment to him or the program. I guess they thought Pruett could continue to pull out the miracles he has with such a small budget but you can only go so far on that. I feel we missed the boat on expanding facilities and if they had been done when we finished out first year in 1A we would be much futher along than we are right now.
