ATHENS, Ohio (AP) -- Leon Williams scored 16 points to lead five players in double figures and Ohio never trailed in beating Marshall 77-68 on Sunday.
Williams scored 10 of his 16 points in the first half and Jeff Halbert hit two 3-pointers during a 9-0 run as the Bobcats (6-5, 1-2 Mid-American) took a 13-4 lead.
Marshall (2-10, 0-4) closed to within 39-36 on a 3-pointer by Joe Miles early in the second half, but Ohio responded with a 10-2 run.
Ohio outscored Marshall 30-16 in the paint and 28-8 at the foul line. The Thundering Herd committed 15 turnovers to nine for the Bobcats.
Sonny Troutman had 14 points for Ohio and Mychal Green, Jeremy Fears and Halbert finished with 13 points apiece.
Williams also had seven rebounds.
Miles led Marshall with 16 points and Mark Patton scored 14 and had eight rebounds. LaVar Carter scored 12 for Marshall and Tre Whitted added 10.
