If we run the 3-3-5, we have to have a stud in the middle on the D-line.  He certainly has the measurables to fit into that slot.

I know in a 3-3-5 you need a NT and this guy fits the bill there sizewise. What about the ends? Do you basically play 3 DTs and rely on LBs and safeties for QB pressure?

The skill set we had last season at DE will work great in the 3-3-5. Mike Green will work in any defense, but pass rushers who can play the run and can move will fill the need. Isiah Gibson, Leggs and Chris Thomas from 2024 are the type of D-linemen that work in the middle in the 3-3-5.  The recruits Coach Gibson is signing is the right body type for the NG in the 3-3-5. GO HERD!

  • I use the 3-3 D & I personally want an animal w/ size @ the NG & 2 bigger bodies in a head up 4 technique.  If I have 2 bigger bodies I can also keep them from getting washed down if I move them in a touch into a 4i.  I also want my MIKE to be stout too.  The new DE transfer from Charlotte fits the mold I?m talking about.

The D line plays in a tight front with big bodies.  The D line jam all the interior run gaps and the Mike takes on any RB that gets through the line.  The corners play off coverage and they read, they either break and try to jump the short route, flow into pass coverage when the WRs reach them or they come up to stop the run or blitz.
