There is agreement and disagreement about tomorrow's bowls. Let's go ahead and get to the unanimous picks:
All four systems main systems are in agreement about the following games:
Marshall def. UConn (I have 22-17)
Washington def. Southern Miss (I have 35-30)
Beamer goes out a winner (I have 38-30)
UCLA nips Nebraska (I have 31-30)
I'll be watching the Miami (FL) - Washington State game intently because I am the only one who has Wazzou picked to win; everybody else has Miami. I ran the numbers twice, and there's no doubt about it. The Cougars lost to Portland State in week 1. They knocked down a couple of easy wins before losing to Cal by six. Then, they beat Oregon, Oregon State, and Arizona in consecutive weeks and then took Stanford to the wire the next. Miami played a lot of close games, but tended to get blown out in big games (lost to Clemson and UNC 117-21). Miami is four touchdowns away from being 4-8.
There is practically no agreement between Indiana and Duke. Massey and I have Indiana, while Sagarin and ESPN have Duke. This, plus the WSU/MIA game will go a long way toward separating the men from the boys, mathematically speaking.
As long as the Herd wins, I'll be happy no matter what. Go Herd!
