Congrats to Coach D'Antoni for this honor. As you can see from the article, his high school record at Socastee was outstanding. Mentioned in the article is the fact that he raised three young men who went through that program and who went on to play Division 1 college basketball at William & Mary, Brown, and Army.

The induction ceremony and banquet will be at 8 p.m. March 18 at Seawell’s Restaurant in Columbia in conjunction with the 67th annual North-South All Star Game Weekend. Tickets are $25 and John Combs at jcombs@richland2.org has more information.

“It’s a big honor. I want to be there at the banquet if at all possible,” D’Antoni said.

Indeed a nice honor and long overdue.  Just one nit (pun intended) to pick with the article.  All Herd fans believed that MU should have been in the final four of both the 1967 and 1968 NIT but Elnardo Webster and his 56 points led his St. Peter's squad to a first round NIT victory over our Herd in 1968.
