  • I think that the Big Green has "bumped" the minimum contribution for membership upward in last year or two.  Believe it is now about $60 or thereabouts which equals a "whopping" 5 bucks per month.  Considering that amount gets you a year's subscription to the Herd Insider, with a news stand price of about $2.50 a copy, the minimum membership level is a pretty good bargain!!

Actually, the $60 level won't get you the Herd Insider (have to go to the $120 level to receive it), however, even $60 will still get a member a few perks but even more than that, the Big Green can certainly put one's $60 donation to good use!  For individuals who have done much for me, if they are not Big Green members, I'm thanking them with a $60 Big Green membership.  Of course, I'm hoping they will continue with that membership in the years to come.

  • And as others have said, the Big Green needs to continue to develop its effectiveness with the second group.  Could they stand some professional "selling" education / training; yes, I think they could.  Should they be commended for their current effort; Yes I think they should.  It's not lack of effort, maybe more lack of understanding and skills in "getting to yes".

    Well said! +1

I like what I'm seeing with this drive and more "boots" on the ground. You give and support those you have relationships with (I did). Build and grow new relationships daily.

  • ug I'd love to say I have some pull but no. I've had some ideas regarding how to expand the basic idea of how the Big Green reaches out to new people and I've tried to communicate them a couple of times but honestly each time I've been brushed off so hard it felt like getting boxed out by Ryan Taylor.  Smiley

I've said for a long time we need to essentially setup the Maniacs such that as long as they give 50 or 60 a year they get full BG benefits throughout college (including accruing points) and then allow that Maniacs/BG membership to continue at the same rate for a period of time past graduation (2-3 years). In that way by the time that new graduate has got settled into their job and has some disposable income being a part of the Big Green is just a part of their life, the transition from there being much easier.

I love the idea they've done the past couple of years that they do give always over social media for those that donate, but I have to drop everything and call? How about this, setup a paypal account or the fundraising equivalent and provide a link in the tweet or Facebook update? You want more money? Instead of the first person that gives $50 make it the person who puts the daily donation over 500 gets the prize

  • Renewed mine the other day and upped from $50 to $900.
Got 3 season tickets in 110 row 54. Anybody on here in that section?

I may bump it up to $1500 if a parking spot opens up in west lot.

We definitely need to step it up as a fan base. Schedule sucks with current CUSA. Hate the teams. But games are fun and I want to support the Herd.

Got tix for Pitt too. That we should travel well too.

Ticket office super nice worked all out for me in one phone call. If you have specific area you are looking at they'll even go through the gigapixel with you to find the seats you want.
    Very customer service friendly.

Heck you can even divide up your payments over quarters to spread out the $.
    Easy to do.

If we have any hope of the AAC/higher once the B12 implodes, we need to step the *^%# up as a fan base.

Remember traveling 10,000 to Tennessee? Me too. Let's get to this guys.

  • Renew and do the 110% plan via auto draft from your checking. You never miss and you increase your level each year. If I am John Sutherland, I am blasting that all over the place. I am not sure many people outside the BG know you can give monthly. They gotta promote that. Hundreds of potential donors out there who would start small. jmo.

  • My turn to bump this thread.

I am issuing a challenge to the Big Green members here or ones you know...Ask someone to join.  The one thing I get tired of is everybody always wants to give the Big Green Ideas on how to increase membership.  While I think passing along ideas is a great thing...you are an extension of the Big Green by being a donor so why not help increase memberships?  You can do it.  Heck if half of the Big Green members would get just one new person to sign up, we would increase membership by over 1,000.  So while you come up with ideas for the Big Green office, also do your own recruiting.  It isn't hard to ask one new person to sign up.

Do you want proof how it can work...we have ONE person in Central KY that has signed up 7 new members as of this past Monday and turned in paperwork for more on Tuesday this week.  If one person can get double digit sign ups, surely each member on here can sign up one new member.  If you sign up new members, you get referral points.

As Doug mentioned above, we would appreciate it if you would use our team (Team Curry) as the referral team.  While it would benefit me if you used my name as the referral, I don't care about it personally as I would be happy to see you get the priority points for the referral and our team get the referral as well.  You can tag the Charlotte Big Green group or the Central KY Big Green group and we will get the credit in the membership drive.

Again...I challenge each of you on here...do your part and recruit one new Big Green member.  Don't just come up with ideas in the Big Green but execute some of those ideas yourself.  We have to offset the revenue lost and do something great for the Student Athletes.  We have some top notch student athletes at Marshall University.

  • I joined back up. Had to take a couple years hiatus but Doug messaged me and I joined back up. Called John Sutherland up and have them auto draft $25 dollars per month for a total of $300 dollars.

  • Just wondering.  Does anyone know if the Big Green sends out payment reminders or vouchers to those members who signed up on the 3 or 4 payment plan?  Haven't received anything yet and I am on one of those type plans.

  • For those in the $300 giving range, They lowered the giving level requirement this year for maple lot to $300 and the spot is $125.  Pretty good deal, at $18 a game.
