Robinette was a prolific scorer at a tiny, rural HS in southwest Virginia.  Apparently year at prep school didn't help him that much to prepare for mid major college basketball.  Played against weak opposition in HS.  Based on size, potential, etc., can't blame Danny for recruiting him and hoping to "coach him up".

Don't know his family circumstances.  Hopefully, he continues his college education, perhaps at a local school near home, like UVA-Wise.  A D-2 school, he probably could play ball there if he wants.  Wish him good luck with his future.  If he left MU already, he's lost about half a semester of school work, unfortunately.

In basketball, the Herd has lost 6 scholarship athletes since the end of last season - Taylor, Browning, Nikolic, Loop, Thompson, and Allison. 5 of those 6 left with Marshall diplomas in hand. Taylor, Browning, and Nikolic are all playing pro ball overseas. Thompson will be playing as a graduate transfer this year at Wake Forest, but would still be here if he had been accepted into the Marshall Medical School. Loop will no doubt be successful in whatever career he decides to pursue. Only Allison left without a diploma, and he transferred to a junior college. So let me know when scholarship football departees are graduating at an 83% rate, and then we can have this debate.

He would have contributed. You could see it at practice. He played facing the basket and ran the floor well. It will be a loss no doubt, but not one we can't recover from.

Also many of the prep schools are loaded with talent....so numbers don't always reflect how good a player is.  I don't think Hassan Whitesides prep numbers were anything great but I believe he was a high impact player here and is now making 20M+ a year in NBA

I have been wrong many times in my life, but I seem to remember other guys at the end of the bench who didn't graduate and are no longer with the program.  Weren't there also some in street cloths who have disappeared in the past 3 years?????
