Topic: Pluses, Minuses and Questions ODU Week

This week, much like the game I’ll keep it short, sweet and to the point.

Pluses
+ Defense
    +Chris Jackson is a ball hawk this year. Well worth last years struggle.
    + who knew a team could use this many linebackers effectively?
    + rotational d line depth. See more in questions
+ Vedvick the punter
+ King not fumbling
+ Being able to watch the Herd with ease.

Minuses
- Camera quality
- Offense
   - Brady was open all day. Don’t be afraid to let it rip
   - OL. Hard to give them a negative with ODUs pass rush stats but there were lulls of bad football
   - Chase aiming the deep ball instead of throwing. Chase is Chase. Numbers track this year to past years.
- Vedvick the kicker
- A Herd house divided

Questions
? We are cycling in D lineman and really linebackers a lot. Against NC St we cycled some linebackers but you could tell the line got tired with limited rest. What about now? We had some bad offensive plays late, but I’d be interested in seeing that again.

? Several posters on here are staying critical. What if Legg is saying I don’t really trust Chase throwing it all over the yard and maybe if we just manage the game and limit turnovers we will win? Would that get some heat off his back? I’m a fan of power run. Actually hate we do it out of shotgun. As someone who played on a defensive line there is nothing more backbreaking than not being able to stop the run. The passing stuff you’re always one chance away from that counter punch KO. Fumble for a TD, pick 6, etc.. Are we really being critical of it because it’s Legg. Would you be less critical if he came out and said just playing safe football was what they are trying to do?

? Do we finally get a win at MTSU? I bought tickets for $6 on stubhub. Now just gotta get off work to get there. Hope to see some folks and it’ll be my daughters first Marshall game. Hopefully she makes it through the game.

Good win. 5-1 feels better than last year even though last year the schedule was tougher. We don’t control other teams, we can only control our team on the field. Be critical, but let’s spread some love. E, Champ I’m still your team from the offseason Hamrick related. but I’m just happy to be winning and trying to see if there is a 2017 bigger picture. your ? do we finally get a win at MTSU? Why wouldn't we? They are terrible. They just lost to a team that dropped football and is back this year. With Stockstill they are avg. Without Stockstill they are one of the worst teams in this weak conference. We should roll them by at least 20 at their place.

We should and they probably should of beat us by 20 last year in the Joan. Don’t forget I think it was Catos junior year at MTSU when we had the shootout and lost to a team we should of beat. Then the next time down there Nick Smiths perfect season ends and basically has his career ended missing field goals. Strange things have happened in this series so far.

Yes but the last 2 years MTSU has been one bad football team. I still don't know why we fear them. This isn't 3-4-5 years ago. They are just bad and I don't think their coach will last much longer.

Stockstill at QB is their whole team. Same thing they went through at the end of the year they are going through now. I’m not saying they are better than them but they went to Syracuse and did something Clemson couldn’t. Stocks out so they are done. I think their team fell into what we did ladybug year. Still worry that they will pull some mojo like we did last year.

Scotty, I don't think it's fearing MTSU, as much as trusting Doc's coaching. I do think Doc well get the monkey off his back and we will win at MTSU.

Each week they seem to be teasing him to come back.  I would put money on him coming back for our game.  Seems like every time we play a team it is a "circle the wagon" game for them.
