  • Dantoni said in the post-game that Penava "will miss 2 or 3 maybe 5 or 6 if something is broken." But didn't clarify if he meant games or weeks. Although with the phrasing you can probably assume weeks.

  • Weeks I would say. Badly rolled ankle is often worse than a break.

I didn't see the play it happened on things to Stadium Sports. But, judging by Dan's phrasing weeks was my assumption as well.

  • He said weeks on the radio. Does Watson have to miss next game for 2 T's? This will be tough to overcome losing Peneva. Lose at Charlotte and you have ODU, MTSU and UAB next 4 games.

In the WMUL interview, he just said 2-3 or 5-6 didn't say weeks or games. But, again with the language used, weeks was the assumption. It wasn't clear with what happened to Watson the Stadium feed froze.

Can someone at the game explain?

He said weeks during Cottons interview. It's weeks, not games.

The same official who called the early T's called him for a reaching foul which was a horrible call. That was his fifth foul and as he (Watson) got close to Marshall's bench.....he  jumped in the air and "appeared" to say that's Bull $***! Another ref saw that a T'd him up.

Ugh. Thanks for the explanation. It was just an all-around bad night.

  • Watson will be out vs Charlotte for the ejection not unless that rule has changed.

So we will not have watson or peneva at charlotte. And then wont have peneva for odu, mtsu and uab. That will be tough to overcome.

  • Should be fine @ Charlotte.  They aren't very good.

Road games for the Herd are always an "adventure", even without the extra current burden, injuries, missing pieces, etc., we are now facing for a while!!!

  • Peneva gad 5 blocks in the first few minutes. What a difference he would have made until the refs took him out anyway.

  • Right now, I am taking nothing for granted. If we have to rely on Milan to be our underneath presence, we are hurting. He is a spot player only. Elmore still is not shooting well. This has been pretty much a season long slump. I know part of it is the defense the opposition is putting on him. So, other players have to step up. Jarrod West needs to have more shooting attempts. He is hot right now from the field and should be shooting more. We need to get tough and have the attitude that nobody is going to get a rebound on us. If it means crashing all five players to the board, then so be it. There is a lot to work on the rest of the season.

I am not giving up on this team. It is going to be a hard road going forward with or without a healthy team. There were too many things that happened before Peneva went down that were not good. Coach is going to have to address many issues this week in practice. He even mentioned that in the postgame interview with Steve Cotton (agenda thing). Time to move on from this one and get ready for Charlotte and ODU.

I agree. I am a huge danny fan. But he is going to have to find a way to get his teams to play better defense and rebounding. That has been a huge problem. I love our offense but you still have to play defense and rebound. We also need to clean up some of the sloppy meaningless turnovers. You have to value possesions and we dont. Until we become much tougher and get better in those 2 areas we can be good, but not great.

  • I'm gonna be honest, Milan gives us basically nothing. Kid plays as hard as he can but he doesn't have a single ounce of athleticism in his body. But, what he does have is some size and strength. He had 5 fouls last night to give and he should have used a couple of them to make a statement. No way with a guy his size back there should WKU got dunk after dunk and lay up after lay up without at least one good hard foul that sent someone to the ground tp eat some hardwood. Just to send a message that they were gonna embarrass us consequence free. And I'm not talking anything dirty, just a good hard foul to make it clear that you're there and the dunk contest wasn't gonna happen without paying for it a little bit.

Thing is we only had "7" turnovers. But, you're right we don't value possessions and we take a lot of poor shots that waste possessions and opportunities that have the same impact on the game as a turnover even though they don't go into the stat book as one.
