  • Game going to bottom of 12th- - -still 10-10.

On another note, Steve Cotton on the Herd radio broadcast had Danny D. on early in the game for a half inning or so.  Coach talked a little about Penava leaving; wished him well and said it could be fine for MU if Penava finds success in the pros.  Says it makes MU aware to more and more potential players/recruits.

At same time, Coach said that MU was very interested in a player "very much like Penava" and that there could be something announced this week!  So stay tuned!!!!

Indeed. This romantic push for a baseball stadium needs to stop. Maybe a thousand show for first game, then it trickles down to the 2 dozen that show up in Charleston. Spend that money on upgrading our basketball program, not a sport so very few support or care about.

True. I'm a Herd fan and a baseball fan but to be honest, even if they were playing near campus I would most likely not attend a lot of games. I usually attend 3-4 in Charleston but I have never gone to a single game at the Rt 2 field.
Just keep it the way it is. Financially makes more sense to do it this way. Rent APP for conference games and play non-conference games at the YMCA field.

But that was for two teams, men’s and Women’s, and soccer is the fastest growing sport in the US while baseball is not. Don’t get me wrong I love baseball, but baseball is not a growing sport.

True, on the fact that it is a fast growing sport, but you have to admit a baseball game would have better attendance than a soccer game. There were a good amount of herd fans there last night I think if we build one we can create a baseball program to be proud of.

Soccer has decent attendance. A baseball stadium within short walk from campus would draw I think. The current arrangement sucks and does nothing positive for the baseball program. jmo

You know why so many people play soccer?  So they won't have to watch it.

LOL! Sorta why I don’t watch women’s basketball, NASCAR or horse racing. Those aren’t real sports.

Only thing, svherd, is that today's student is a whole different cat.  MU is still a suitcase/commuter school in many respects.  Also, there are dorms just outside the doors of the CAM and if you have noticed at many HERD games, they, the students, aren't exactly knocking down the doors and cramming to the brim the student seating sections!!
