  • Here are ones that stood out to me.

    #20 Brenden Knox - RB.
#21 Anthony Anderson RB.  I could see both of these guys getting some valuable playing time this year.  Anderson is still having trouble with pass protection and catching the ball out of the backfield

#2 Artie Henry WR.  Will see the field alot this year.  Good ball skills
#30 Simino Walden WR.  Listed at 5'8" but is smaller than that.  Kid can flat fly and was used in the slot.
#80 Naquan Renalds WR.  I swear it seems like this kid catches everything.  I had to keep looking at the roster to find out who he was.

#11 Xavier Gaines TE.  Everyone remembers this kid.  Plenty of times he had 1v1 with a LB and he beat them every time.
#15 Armani Levias TE.  Kid his huge and a big target.  Really athletic for his size.  I honestly could see him get a shot at the next level

    # 18 Dontrell Johnson DB.  He had the most INTS all summer from what I can remember.  Not sure if he will get the starting nod at CB but I could see him maybe in the nickel.

  • Great report.

Sad that someone as big as Anderson has trouble with pass protection. Sounds like he is soft.

Not necessarily.  Some kids just have a hard time squaring up properly and keeping their weight balanced.

And that is exactly what I noticed during camp.

Yeah. They don't square up because they are shying away from contact.

  • Not always true.  I bigger guy like Anderson they aren't going to truck as easily as a smaller back....so they may make a hip or head fake move to get him off balance and then rip or swim around him.  In that case being too aggressive can contribute to your failure. I haven't seen the practices so I don't know. The best way is to step up and meet the guy in the hole.  If you wait until he gets a full stride planted at full speed before he hits you it isn't likely to end well for you...but if you can identify quickly and step into the hole before that full planted stride you can stop his momentum.  Many guys who don't identify quickly and get into hole will just try to cut him. Hopefully it is just technique and not fear but I wouldn't make the assumption unless you've seen it.

  • Seen it in person but granted it was from a set position.  Not at the line of scrimmage.  It was a drill ran from the shotgun.
