Frankly I was more impressed with what I saw from Maryland than I am with UVa.

If Jon and Burks can both get hot against the Cavaliers  we've already won.

We are a match up problem for UVA. They want to take the air out of the ball and play slow and keep the score low. If we can make them get out and run we can cause some problems for them

UVA is a bad matchup for us...no way to force tempo when they have the ball..our defense is not a shut type that will make them do something they don’t want to..

I said since the summer that if we are shooting well, we win this game. Thing is they won't blow you out unless you are ice cold because they like to play in the 50-60 range.

You can't run without the ball ( defensive rebounds ). It's not rocket science.

If our bigs can block out half as well as Jon Elmore we're set. He averages half-a-dozen rebounds at 6'3".

Look at their 1st round tourney loss last season. Lost to a team that plays a similar style to us. That jumped on then and made UVA have to try and shoot the 3 to keep pace. If we can do the same we have a real chance. The Cavs want a low scoring affair. We have to make them find a way to play our game. Which will mean playing good interrupt defense. A weakness for us. If we can get them to play in the 70s-80s it favors us. A game in the 50s-60s favors them.

We'll have to defend the three as well as making our own. They definitely had some three point shooters last night, it just isn't their approach to take the quick three, they prefer to run down the shot clock when on offense. They tend to take their three point shots with under eight seconds on the clock, then use the zone to keep you from scoring. If out three point shooters get hot they'll be willing to let us take those shots.
