  • Nice outcome for both schools...we helped them out this year and we get a quality home game in the near future.

  • Great win - win all the way around. Kudos to the AD's from each school. Now, let's kick some turkey tail Saturday.

  • I believe MH did a really good job in securing a home & home as a price for playing them this year.

If he'd have just wrangled a home & home in MBB, with no future FB games, I'd have considered that a pretty good deal. This deal exceeded what I thought would have happened.
In memory of Dr Daniel P Babb who taught so much to so many.

  • Must be, as rumored, cancelling the series with ECU.  Hokiesports.com shows 2023 OOC as ODU, Purdue, Rutgers and ECU.  2024 as ODU, ECU, Wisconsin and Rutgers.

Or possibly perhaps the Rutgers series.  Tech and another Big 10 program, Michigan, previously had cancelled a home and home series.  Perhaps Tech doesn't want 2 B10 games in the same seasons, although right now Rutgers is a total train wreck.

As for basketball, another season or two like last year and I believe Danny, Mark Cline and/or Hamrick may find some games with "Major" programs like Tech would be easier to land.  Right now, Buzz Williams has a strong program going in Blacksburg.  The relative proximity to Huntington of such a top ranked program should be something both schools could find as a reason to schedule some games, unless, of course, Williams turns out to be a total A-hole like Lard Boy in Morganhole!!!

I'm happy with the football deal that Mike put together but I wish he had been able to throw in a basketball game with Tech as well. Presently, they have a MUCH better basketball team than football.

That's a fluke for now. Football will be king soon I am sure.
