  • I remember when we had a coach doing so well that Georgia poached him.

    Reckon they’d still be interested?

Except that it is.  They play in THEIR CONFERENCE.  So do we.  It is absolutely an even comparison.

  • It's the same except they fired their coach for not winning more and also have appeared in the championship games numerous times.

Then by all means.  Let’s fire Doc.  Let’s just see how that goes.  The odds of anyone doing better are extremely low.  Once again, see ECU.

And the winner of their conference championship games has competed for the national championship several times while the CUSA champions haven't even had a sniff at an access bowl.

Truly and apples to oranges comparison by an obnoxious lawyer who'd rather see himself arguing with people than making sense.

OK then.  How many conference titles at WVU since Doc took over at MU??  Care to guess?  One.  And it was Big East, in a pathetic year.  I make the point to show that winning title after title just is not realistic.  There are maybe 5 schools in the whole country that can expect that without being totally delusional.

  • You are ignoring this user.

Wolf when you added the ignore feature I thought it was a bad idea.

I was wrong. Tried it a couple of weeks ago on Pouty Johns and now on Greggy. Great addition to the board.

I recommend it highly to other posters that find certain posters obnixous.

Give me the material differences between our current situation and our situation in the MAC from 1997-2004.

Aside from our obvious cheating?  Aside from the 3 most legendary players in mid major history, 2 of which were total luck.  Aside from the 40 years of stagnation of the MAC?  Aside from the damned heroin epidemic?  Not much.

I’m seeing this! Wow!!! Let’s not mention how many times Georgia has finished top 10, how long they’ve in stayed in top 25, competed in sec title games and New Years bowls. And the top 25 has been home for Boise and UCF, USF, Fresno, Memphis, etc for a good while now, so let’s not act like it’s just for P5 schools.

Do you ever mention anyone else? Do you remember when I already called you out on this? Let’s not mention WKU, Troy, Toledo, Memphis, UCF, USF, temple, app state, need I continue? You love using only ECU to show how scared you are to be worse than we are. Hilarious.

Didn’t Georgia fire a coach during this time for not getting the job done?

Yes, Chad, a legendary player that no one else offered a scholarship to.  He was found and developed.  What about Byron, whose only other offers were to play TE?  Yep, discovered and developed by the coaches.  Sure, I'll give you Randy, but was only here for one year in the MAC.

The whole prop thing is a favorite excuse of Doc apologists.  Funny that the great players you mention, those who were responsible for our success weren't props.  Also funny that the vast majority of the great players from those years weren't props.  Funnier still that John still has the ability to take props, he just isn't as good at it.  Do you think paying props $25 an hour instead of $10 made them much better players after their one year in the program?  You like to act like we had 100 mops for props players on the team. We had less than a dozen and most of those weren't starters.
