  • Time to rethink our recruiting. We have ZERO rebounding or inside game. We run no offense, except let Jon jack up turn around step back 26 footers. We literally waste scholarships on kids who can't play. At this point I wish Mijovic had an extra year of eligibility left. Any individual with two eyes can see how bad we are at everything except shooting when WIDE open. We got out-rebounded by 20, that's terrible. Not to mention I don't think we have out-rebounded any team so far this year. All of you can say what you want about DD recruiting to his system and all this %^&*, until he recruits positional basketball players and not all these undersized guards, we will be mediocre at best.

  • For me, this is the most undisciplined, most selfish, offensive basketball team I've seen at MU in a decade; and the WORST defensive team in twenty years.

I have to agree with you. Very painful to watch.

I mean, this team was obviously overhyped, but do you not remember the Herrion years when it comes to offense?

We're only about a year removed from miraculously coming back at home to beat UT-Martin. Way too many expectations for this team. Getting an at-large was always a pipe dream and everything will come down to three days in March.

  • We are playing some bad basketball for sure right now. No hustle or want to, to hit the boards. Being killed by second chance points. And we just can't shoot very well for a team thats entire design is oredicated on shooting.

We do seem to be lacking the never say die grit that last years' team had. Given the ability of DD so far to produce improvement through the course of a season, the lack of drive this year is the only thing worrying me at this point.

  • OU's top players coming in were sophomores.  Previous beat down at Maryland was administered by underclassmen.  Namely, one junior and the rest freshmen an sophomores.  Can understand how Maryland is able to recruit that level of talent.  But, Ohio U?

Maybe someone like can find the time to ask Danny D. how come MU can't get enough players who are polished and productive in multi phases of the game in their SECOND season as opposed to MU whose players almost to a man seem to need 3 years or so of "development"??  Maybe just recruiting almost all players with a lesser talent level to begin with and then trying to coach em up needs tweaking!!

  • Next year will be brutal losing Elmore, Burks and Watson. We’ll still lack a big man who can play D1 ball and give us more than 10 minutes a game and have no proven guards for scoring, other than West.

Time to look at a good Juco PG or two spot and a good Juco 5 spot. Yeah, DD doesn’t want to load up on Jucos but we need some help, quick or the program may go backwards.

  • We are need of a big man something awful . I know the "system" doesn't put much emphasis on a traditional big man but it sure would be nice to have one for 20 minutes , or longer , a game that's a threat to score .

Today's game was one I thought we should have won but didnt . Theres going to be more of those this year but hopefully we will win one or two that we're expected to lose. It's a long season , so expect everything.

Mayo at EKU or Carter at OU would do wonders for us. How can they get those players and we can't?
