The more modern buildings/facilities that go up along the Hal Greer Corridor, especially those related to various aspects of the health care profession/industry, the better for Huntington in the long run, IMO.  Eventually creating positive economic activity and good jobs, replacing what has for a long time been a declining, run down area of the City.  Now if Mayor Williams and the City Council can secure the funding to provide the upgrades to Hal Greer, updated and better lighting, safety medians and crosswalks, better/more turn lanes, realignment of some stoplights/streets, basically from 3rd Ave. almost out to the Interstate, this main Corridor into town and to MU will  have an appealing, modern look.  Can't help but be a plus when/if out of area business interests come to check out the City for possible business investment, etc.  Also, aids in the overall area image which should help MU in its recruitment efforts of potential students new to the City, area, etc.

  • Hopefully this might help clean that area up , its been neglected long enough imo. I dont know what could all be done but it needs a good overhaul. Its not a good area for out of towners to see first.
