  • Just realized that Ohio's offensive linemen out weigh the Herd's defensive linemen by an average of roughly 55 lbs per player.

Ohio's TEs on the 2 deep weigh an average of 4 lbs less than the average weight of our starting DL players.

Solich always seems to have big tough linemen and good line play.  He may not have much else but he always seems to have good lines.  This season he also has a good duel threat QB.  The over/under on this game is 49.

This. Exactly the post i was going to make. Weight doesn't always mean more talent, and it certainly means less speed.

  • Ohio’s best lineman Austin Pleasants is from right up the river in Coal Grove, Ohio.

One of the associate SID's at Marshall is an Ohio grad. He  was in Pittsburgh last week for the game. He told me that this was the worst OU offensive line he had seen Solich have. He was very disappointed in the Bobcats.

  • Hopefully our team is well rested and hydrated.  Playing big teams when your small takes a toll on you as the season wears on.  Is the DE transfer from Fiu healthy?   We need him.  He’s a sack machine.

  • i'm one of those fans not interested in breaking down film, but in two games i thought our OL has given the backfield plenty of opportunities to make plays.  i tend to place the expectations of progress squarely on Cramsey's shoulders.  as far as HCs overall results in their respective conferences Doc and Solich are very similar- for the most part it's a toss up more often than not.

Of course they will play like the Patriots protecting Tom Brady against us. This will be a dogfight. I fully expect Rourke to give us fits. And not confident in our O being able to put up points.

Ohio's offense had a bad day vs. Pitt.  The explanation offered was that Rourke was suffering from strep throat and an upper respiratory infection.  Rourke is expected back at full strength vs. the Herd.  That's a plausible explanation, I guess.  Rourke is a duel threat QB so part of their rushing yards would be attributed to him and by all accounts he did not run the ball vs Pitt.  Ohio also lost their second string RB for the season due to injury.

The Vegas line is down to Marshall winning by 5pts (opened at Marshall by 6).  I would like to see Marshall blow out the BobKittens.  Either way it looks like it will be a good game vs. the pre-season pick to win the MAC.  With the over/under at 49 someone is going to have to come up with some offense.  The over/under opened at 55 so a lot of people were taking the under.

I believe the OU qb was not 100% for the Pitt game.  OU is the preseason favorite to win the MAC East.

  • Hope we can put the kind of pressure on him that we put on Boise's QB.  Not sure if the Bobcat QB is as big and durable as the kid from Boise.  Put some hit on him; make him reluctant to run and thus more one dimensional!!
