Depth chart and game notes will be released at Doc’s media availability tomorrow.

  • pretty much spot on to what we thought

    Sapp - finally

    Juco start @ LB

Ball will need to start somewhere (can't be an NFL prospect and start behind non nfl players)

TE depth is a concern (Devin Miller had the drops last year)

With our schedule we should be undefeated or drop no more than 1 game by simply pounding the rock and throwing more TD's than picks and creating more fumbles than fumbling.

I do worry about our 2 deep and limited experience in live action in a Herd uniform.

ST will be interesting.  Could be ok or go south in a hurry.

    Some people with NFL chances

Ball, Madden (has to drill and run well), Gaines (has to run well and catch clean), Knox could declare with a big year (need to 40 well - looks more 4.6-4.7), Beckett (needs weight or show 4.4 speed with a look at S).  Johnson could sneak into a camp (needs picks).  Interesting ..... when is the last time a Herd WR was drafted?  (Aaron Dobson - Snyder recruit)?

    Bring on the Herd!

  • All I can say is we would move TJ Johnson to DT. Typical Doc.

    Go Herd

  • Ball will start over Adams. Poor Adams just can’t stay healthy. He’ll be good coming in as a sub. Lots of seniors on the O. Not many on D but some decent experience. If Wells plays well and we stay healthy, we can win the league. That said, I see losses to App St, WKU and La Tech. Hope for better.

All 265 lbs of him for a 210lb DE instead

  • Where is Sam Burton?  He played a lot last year!  Doc House?  Left?  Injured?  Suspended?

  • I'm not sure if it is due to lack of coverage, boredom with Doc, covid, or my lack of time with becoming a parent of 2, but this is the least I felt I've known about a roster in 15 years. Hopefully it just means new great talent.

This is the Ricardo Williams deal and why I never faulted Ty Tyler. It hasn’t and never will be the answer to winning big. A line of 6’5 265 at ends with 290-310 in the middle is and will always be the answer at this level. We are smaller than FCS teams on the DL.

Haven't they moved Spring Valley's Owen Porter to the inside on the D Line also?  He goes what, 240#, maybe 245?  Or is he playing a DE position?  Doc obviously not a good student of history.  Should realize that best Herd teams in last 3 decades, under both Donnan and Pruett, had some real "studs" on defense, including IN THE DEFENSIVE LINE!!!

Owen is a DE for now. Behind Hodge and Cody.

  • A lot of Seniors on the OL.  We better get some young guys experience this year or it will be a tough road next year on offense.

I hope whoever we get as our next coach he is an offensive mind and has his defense recruit for size inside and leave LB at LB and develop good size at DE.  I guess he being so stubborn hasn't noticed what everybody else in the country notices with our DL.

Congrats on becoming a parent of 2.

But I'm right there with ya and I don't have kids yet. I texted some buddies the other day saying this is the least I've known about our team in a long time. I didn't even see where the papers covered the scrimmage a few weeks back.

I have brought that up as well. We have known of at least 2 scrimmages and we have no idea how many passes were completed or attempted or how many tackles were made. The day following the scrimmage all we saw in the HD was a fluff piece about an offensive lineman or linebacker. I have to think this is because Trayor has been told to NOT get the info out there from the football office
Today, I consider myself, the luckiest man on the face of the earth..

  • Don't know were there getting the height and weight numbers from.  I know Owen Porter was measured in at 6' 3" and weighs 254lbs. Looks like some players weights have not been updated since last year.
