  • I'm watching the Ark St Memphis game.  They did a promo for their half time report.  They said they were going to talk about Marshall's QB.

There are 40 seconds left in the half.

  • Grant Wells received some great praise today from ESPN.... It seemed like the worldwide leader saved the best Herd's highlights for last.

One thing I really liked, E-Man, is that the ESPN analyst, Andre Ware, seemed really impressed with Wells and complimented his play throughout the telecast, IMO.  And for those who may not know, Ware was a QB for years in the NFL, IIRC, and while playing his college ball at Houston, he was a record setting gunslinger as the QB, throwing for about a Zillion yards as a Cougar!!

  • The quality of commentary for an ESPN game was light years ahead anything we've gotten in years. The disparity is really amazing. In addition to talking about Marshall, they have data, graphics, and footage from old games ready to go. Everything was really top notch.

The Marshall vs. UCF undefeated stuff was pretty cool, too.

I don't think any knowledgeable fan would have promoted Marshall as the best team in 1999. But, if had Moss back for a 3rd year and a couple of couple of upgrades each on O and on D, I think it would have made for an interesting hypothesis. We didn't blow every opponent out. '99 Herd and coaches sort of paced themselves at times.
