Topic: UAB rode their stud, We didn't

On every first down play tonight UAB ran the ball, usually giving it to their best player Spencer Brown and he'd get them 4 to 6 yards and set them up nicely for 2md and 3rd down.

We, on the other hand, continued to throw the ball on first down with a QB that couldn't complete anything and put our offense in terrible 2nd and 3rd down situations. Knox is the best back in CUSA, I really believe that. But, in both losses this year we didn't trust him to carry us. Our game plan as usual sucked.

In all fairness, our RBs seldom had any holes to hit when we did run.  Our veteran, senior laden O line was stymied and lost the battle as a whole with the Blazers defensive studs, and they had some "big uns" on their D front.  Conversely, the Blazers huge offensive line toyed with our undersized defensive front.  CBSsports analyst on several occasions referred to the MU front, or front seven, as undersized, small but quick, etc.

I've just never seen a worse series of play calling from an OC than I saw in the first half last night, I don't think.
