. . . MtSU in a shootout down in Charlotte with the 49ers.  Blue Raiders down 42-32 with 4 minutes left in the contest.  Both teams have some skilled offensive players from my viewing.  HERD can beat both, IMO, but will probably involve "shootouts".  Think our O can put up big numbers, points, against both Ds, but key will be, to borrow Coach Huff's words, "to finish".  Veteran QB for UNCC has over 300+ yards, 4 scores.  49ers run some nice screen passes.  Herd will need better overall defensive efforts, again IMO, but offensively should "thrive" if we eliminate mistakes, etc.  MTSU is quite penalty prone, at least in this contest.  Hopefully, the contest next Saturday night in Murfreesboro will be telecast on some venue.  Oops, MTSU just scored a TD with 2:12 left. . . STAY TUNED, Herd Fans!!

FINAL: 42-39, UNCC.  Play at ILLINOIS next.  MTSU hosts the HERD.  Niners now 9-2 in their last 11 games at home in "expansive" Jerry Richardson Stadium.

Yes, Marshall has split the series with Middle Tennessee (4-4) since they've joined C-USA.

Yeah, puma, and IIRC, the HERD under Doc hasn't done too well against that "newbie" program down in Charlotte either!
