  • #1 and #3 plays on Sports center from last night?s game.  #3 was Ali?s 93 yard TD.  You don?t want or need to hear about #1.

Bet  these wouldn?t be mentioned if the game hadn?t been on ESPN last night.

  • Ali's kick return is all over the internet right now.

ESPN really knows how to build hype around a product.

They have been showing Ali?s kick return as well durning the show. I agree these would not have been shown if the game was on CBSSN or Facebook. It goes to show that ESPN is a necessary evil. They can willingly ignore you, which makes you virtually invisible in the world of college football.

Last night really did not matter as much since we had lost to ECU last week, but you can see how much having games on ESPN help when you have that one special team. It gets your name out there and people talking about you. Twitter was lit up for a little while with people talking about the game too.

  • It was a really good game to watch too even if you didn't have a rooting interest in either school.  It was just a good college football game between two good teams who were evening matched.  Unfortunately we came out on the losing end.

Hate to say this but, your comments also supports the lesser watched conferences having games during week days.  Had last night's game been on a Saturday it would have had a lot less eyeballs.  People aren't going to talk about you if they don't see you, a lot of sports junkies will watch you when you are the only game on the tube.

  • Their fan turnout looked really good for a mid-week game. I don't watch a lot of ESPN but is it always like that for App?

The whole presentation was really good and way better than the usual G5-vs-G5 matchups. Most games don't feel "big time" like that.

  • Last night proved to me that we need to get back in bed with the mouse at all costs...if that means a few mid week games then so be it!

  • It was nice to see us on ESPN. As much as I loathe that network, Marshall needs to be on it. The only way for our team to get exposure.

  • We got more pub last night than an entire year on Facebook, Stadium or CBSSN. It was great to see.

Play 2-3 games midweek and get exposure. The crowds aren?t coming anyway

  • Marshall needs to do its part mainly by starting to mow down the upcoming overall weak and poor CUSA competition remaining on our regular season schedule.  We have a pretty positive history with ESPN, IMO, and they know our brand.  We just can't expect to go season after season with 3, 4 or so WTF losses like we experienced under Doc, and expect ESPN to try and find slot on its venues for a HERD game or games!   ECU and Appy as good or better, again IMO, that the League teams we face in the rest of the regular season.  Don't need any more head scratching losses like we had against Rice last year!
