  • I think signing day is two weeks from today.  It seems this is an important day for Coach Huff and the Marshall Football program.  Just how important is it in the minds of Herd fans?

  • It's huge for me.  First of all, Huff has implemented a different philosophy than Doc by using the early signing period heavily.  So, I'm just interested to see how that plays out.  Second, I want to make sure he closes out all his hard work by getting the signatures that day that we're expecting.  Then, I'll just be curious from there how he manages any remaining scholarships for the February signing period to round out the class.

  • I?m expecting Huff to sign a big class during the early period (Dec. 15-17). Doc would bring in 10-12, but I think Huff will get 20-25.

  • Huff also seems to value the portal as well. Be interesting to see how he balances all the scholarships. The class looks very good so far.

  • In the last few days Huff has posted at least 11 in person visits on Twitter for recruits that have given verbals. Sounds like he is closing the deal before signing day!

  • It's important for me.  I hope Huff holds on to this recruiting class because I'm pretty f-ing excited about it.  Kudos to him and his staff for putting this class together.

  • It is extremely important to me, this is where building a championship begins. Hope BIGHFIO , our recruiting guru. resurfaces to give us the lowdown on recruiting.

  • Question- We are allowed 25 annual signings and 80 overall scholarships. So let?s say we sign 25 kids. If a transfer upper class man becomes available is it counted towards the 25 annual or can we accept additional transfers?

  • Its unimportant to me to a degree. College recruiting has became a crap shoot on if they show up to campus. It?s almost like a two step program. Sign LOI, then keep recruiting them. Looks like Huff and staff though are out pounding the pavement to ensure closure.

    Agree.

I think all of the guys from last yr fall/spring small class minus one (A juco that opted to stay out west) showed up and all were eligible. If that continues, it should bode well. I also think they really need to make portal guys who haven't graduated and are not going down a level sit a yr. If not the big boys will find a way to contact kids to guarantee them a spot and convince them to enter portal.

  • Thanks for all the input.  I have to think its important to Huff and his staff.  He wants to build, and this is his first real chance to start doing that.  Wish them all the best and hope they can get the players that can move us to the next level!
