I liked Wells Hs film.  Thought it was the best I watched since Catos Hs film for a Herd recruit.  I just liked Bagent?s film better.  Have not broken down the three qbs coming in.  But Penny 2 is very advanced in the pocket for a hs Qb.

Yeah MU and WVU both missed on this young man.  His hs coach begged wvu to give him a shot and they were not interested.  I'm not sure if we offered him anything.

We are going to play against a guy Saturday that leads the nation in passing. Every single school except Houston Baptist missed on him.  It happens.

I believe it was FAU or FIU that was hot on Bagent's trail.  Flip on the hs tape and now college tape.  It is a miss.  And it is easy to see.  He is a very polished qb.  Wells hs tape was good.  Cato's was really good.  Bagent's tape was as good as Cato's hs tape.  But pro size.

I remember the state game well. Had Porter not gotten hurt SV had a chance of winning that game. But the amount of talent that offense had was overwhelming from a state perspective.

Yes.  We are talking Division 2 here.  Not FBS.  Not FCS. Division 2.  Who knows, maybe he could have played here, but I'm not going to lose sleep over a guy that every coach in FBS and FCS passed over.

Theyll always be guys that rise to the top from the lower ranks, you?ll never get them all.  You can literally look up about every FCS school and look under famous alumni and see a handful of NFL players that went to that school. 

Some of these kid?s balling out is environmental as well, developed under playing pressure and coaching.  That kid could have went D-1 and sat behind someone for years as well.

WKU?s Bailey Zappe is a perfect example of not getting everyone, he is from Texas!  How many schools recruit Texas?  Had 1-2 small school offers and settled on Presbyterian U and now he is statistically the best Quarterback in Division 1 and he?ll probably make a roster or practice squad.  He reminds me of Case Keenum and he is going on his 10th year in the NFL.

I went to Shepherd the year they went to the D-II semifinals and watched a few of their games. It's fun football but it's not in the same universe as even the worst FBS conferences.

There are some really good skilled players in the PSAC and D2 level. A lot of D1 transfers as well, so there are a lot of "D1" type of players on the field. The biggest difference imo is on the OL and DL. Even FIU (the worst CUSA team) would steam roll the PSAC or any D2 conference based on the OL and DL alone.

Now I do think you could take a lot of skilled players from those levels and put them on D1 teams and it wouldn't be THAT much of a difference if at all.

Brandon Ore from Virginia Tech was a Heisman Candidate and Orange Bowl MVP when Va Tech was still good. He transferred to a WVIAC school his SR year due to legal/behavior issues and wasn't anything special. Just another guy on the field for the most part.

I wonder if Bageant will hit the transfer portal or not? Honestly, I would rather see us take the best D2/FCS players in the transfer portal as opposed to some 5th string player at Missouri.

It?s not near as good. Like anything and herdfan129 said the lines would be where it would fall apart. Speed of the game isn?t as fast as either. I do think Bagnet would have adapted to the level. At D2 he?s walked in and dominated.

I would encourage watching some D2/D3 on ESPN plus. There?s a lot of purity and love for the game. Occasionally at the D3 level you?ll find a few players who have next level chances. So for most everyone it?s just the love.

Not every coach. He did have a Scholarship offer to Albany, which is FCS. He just chose Shepard over them.
