  • It doesn?t help to explain things to Coal. Evidently he has an ax to grind with DD and he sharpens it with zone defense and ?jacking? 3?s even when it doesn?t make sense, which is most of the time. (All of the other teams in the country shoot 3?s, but we ?jack? them. It?s a Dantoni?s family secret or something.)

Did DD pork his wife and daughter?

    Dude certainly acts like it

  • Exactly.  And that's NOT "good coaching", contrary to previous post to yours, GW.  We too often jack a wild three, an off balance three, etc., which is in accordance to Danny's rule that any time, any where, any player, apparently, if they feel like shooting a trey, then "fire away".  Oh, to clarify:  the fans have NOTHING to do with our failure to play a ZONE defense; rather, its the STUBBORNESS of the Head Coach!!
I do agree that DD is stubborn at times. And I have been critical concerning DD. But I try to let it go and move on hoping I will see better. I don't think I ever see you post anything that is positive concerning any of our sports. And I may be wrong on that. I am remembering all the negatives you post. My focus now is on Akron. This team is close. I agree with E-Man. I think we will be a force in the conference.

  • Finally got to watch the game this morning and watched Dans post game interview.

Kinsey played like he was trying to improve his draft stock and was out of control for periods of time.
Taylor found his shot which should help down the road.
Obina and George should not even think about shooting a 3.
I thought Early continued to play well along with the freshmen.
Beyers gonna be Beyers.  Oh wow is my common response to him.  Sometimes good and sometimes bad.

Like Dan said in his interview the team needs to learn value the ball better.  Also he made a good point regarding doubling the post.  They were worried about their shooters and the post was a good passer which we saw when we did double.

Good analysis. I did not hear D'Antoni's postgame.

  • Maybe that's because as Danny has constantly said, "No body plays interior, back to the basket, offensive basketball anymore".  And he's got all those pick and roll or jack a three "Danalytics" stats to proves it!  TOTAL BS, as IU CLEARLY showed this evening.  If you chartered their shots tonight, you'd have the lane almost totally colored a solid color, IMO.  Yeah, they did throw it out for an occasional three, but their game was clearly back to the basket, pitch it inside for a shot, a follow up tip in, etc.

I think the ?jack a three?characterization is a misnomer. We?re currently tied for 165th in the nation for 3-point attempts.

My problem wasn't with that. It was the fact that our post defenders kept letting him go left to the paint which was his strong hand. The couple of time he had to take it right, he missed the shot. But like I said, this game will help this team grow.

Perhaps "quick" three would be a more accurate term, thunderingon.  You can't deny we often take wild, ill timed threes, often hurried shots.  Jack a three is perhaps a bad term for what I am try to indicate.
