It's still everyone eligible, all 14 teams for the cusa tournament, based on the info on the conference website.
Thanks...I was just thinking no late season run if we aren't eligible for late season.
As to Taylor, all we heard was now that West is out of the way Taylor will be comfortable to open up at the point and lead the team. Now, he's not a point guard at all and needs to be a 2. More than one person said he would run the point as well as Jon Elmore. My question is how are we the only team in the country that has such disparity between what scouting reports and practice reports show compared to on court results. The answer is they are the best in their high school, by far, so look amazing. Then they get here and it's 1 or two D1 players vs a bunch of D2 players and they look amazing in practice. Then they play quality D1 teams and look like a$$.
The moral of the story is don't have any expectations with a DD team till you see them vs at least middle of the pack D1 teams. And then don't be all "A win is a win." Use your brain and break down what each player can do better and realize that will be magnified 100 fold vs real good and most conference competition. Also see that they make the same mistakes multiple games and wonder why it isn't being noticed and corrected. I hope they turn it all around. At this point, I'm not betting on it. And I don't want us to do just well enough to keep repeating the same thing every year. We've done that to death....At Marshall.
Just like with Doc (that didn't happen) coaches, especially over 5 years tenure, need to be given exact expectations and minimum requirements. If they don't meet those criteria they need to move on, one way or the other. If you suddenly dropped your production by half in any other profession, you'd be fired. We don't need everyone's favorite grandpa here, anymore. We need a killer. It would be a monumental task for DD to become that guy this late in the game. But he's got to start trying. When someone screws up they should hear about it in the nosebleeds. Stop coddling these guys.
