yes.  just have to let go the superficial anxiety.  as some have said, the grass isn't always.....
if you believe in luck, just need a little with the Huff hire and all the recent and future changes, in general.

  • We might now see if Cramsey is the mad genius of his past and if Doc and Huff held him back here.

I think the other part of that equation is having the personnel to run the scheme effectively. Do we? Did we? Not sure.

    +1 sv
I wasn?t a Cramsey fan but I agree with you. I think it?s a combo of things mainly falling under Docs staff.
Conservative coaching style and there?s no doubt recruiting at MU backslid the past 2-4 years under docs leadership.

Good luck to coach cramsey. Hope he finds his mojo in Memphis.

  • under doc, the assts were responsible for making sure the cupboard was full with their unit

so, if there were personnel issues on the offensive side of the ball, cramsey was here 3-4 yrs to "coordinate" with the other offensive assts on what we needed to run his offense.  so, either he's not that good of a recruiter or maybe our recent mediocrity made it impossible to get those kinds of players here.  either way, if we can't get the kids in here he needs to run his offense, then he being the OC doesn't do us a whole lotta good.

  • Big plus that he is gone. He has been unsuccessful at the FBS level, and I don't expect that to change. Anybody can be a "good OC" with a superstar QB, cramsey had a serviceable one, and a great RB with a solid OL and didn't get it done.

Like I said, the AAC has done more for Marshall this past year than we have done for ourselves in 10 years. Got us out of cusa and into a much better FB conference, weakened themselves to the 3rd best G5, and took a really bad OC that Huff wouldn't fire. Can't beat that.

  • They really need flowers and a box of chocolates for V-day with your words on the card.  That would be amazing.  Hell, I have a new litter of Goldens.  I'll throw in a puppy.

  • I think it?s funny that so many people wanted Cramsey out but they still want to keep D?Antoni as the BBall coach

Fix one thing, finally, first, then move on to the next.  Basketball has been on the back burner so long it can wait.  There's no rush.  We won't get both right at the same time and the D'antoni bandaid was enough to get us healed for a while.  Agree it needs to be addressed once football is sorted.

I think it's funny that you hold so much hatred for a Marshall guy that's achieved more than any coach in our history, and you obsess about it so much you bring it up in a completely unrelated thread.

Great point.  Eight years of mediocrity and someone said fix football first and then go to basketball?  Time should be up for Dan.  If you follow Twitter, one of our football coaches has been in NJ and Philadelphia recruiting over the last 24 hours.  These are places where our BB coaches should be planting a flag.

People were on Huff and he hadn't been here a year, but because Dan went to Marshall and is from Mullens, he gets a pass. If anything, that's why he should be held to a higher standard.  Unreal.  By the time MU gets to the Belt, the program that should own it from day 1 will be an afterthought.

The coach's job is to adjust his 'scheme' to hide the weaknesses and to accentuate the strengths.
In memory of Dr Daniel P Babb who taught so much to so many.

Because it was a bad hire.  Done more than any coach in MU history???  Really. With a 56% winning percentage.  Hell?Greg White has a better winning percent.  Ok.  Ok.  He won 1 NCAA tournament game which nobody else has done.   Congratulations.   But that?s nothing to hang your hat on.   Hell Doc had 1 conference title.  1 win.   Jeez.    We need a coach that knows how to coach and teach our players how to play the game.  Not just run up and down the court throwing up bricks.

BTW.  We just lost our 8th straight game tonight.  Don?t think we?ve had many coaches do that in their career here. Another  achievement to brag on i guess
