Why choose to be like this? This post is completely unnecessary and self serving.  I've never seen Meister attack anyone on here, but yet he gets this treatment.   God forbid people stay optimistic and enjoy their athletics instead of living and dying by it.

I?ve never understood the backlash that meister and the other practice guys get either. Of course when you are so invested in a coach and program you tend to see things in a positive light. But there?s no fault in that. When you get information from Ty, you absolutely know that info is coming from very close to the program. His report on the team practice being spirited with good effort was valuable because it shows that despite the losses, the team still has their heart into winning and haven't given up. That didn?t equate to a win, but it was great to hear that this team hasn?t laid down.

I?ve known Ty for years and he has been kind and respectful to my family every time our paths cross. I appreciate any information he gives and for the life of me I don?t understand why people feel the need to bring down those who maintain loyalty and positivity when things aren?t going well. I don?t understand why people feel the need to divide camps between basketball and football either.

The insinuation that positivity shows a person lacks the ability to understand reality is hogwash as well. You can be positive and understand we aren?t playing well. But at 4:00 Meister will be watching the game court side and then driving the million hours it takes to get back home. That?s the dedication that gets called out after almost every loss?hey man?those practice guys still think we?re going to win the national championship. Yet Ty always takes the high road and doesn?t snap back at those taking a shot at him. That's a pretty rare thing.

HM is a great and loyal fan. I appreciate the practice reports as well as being out-of-towner.

Remember the practice report this week that everyone was positive, DD is not capable of turning this around.

Herdmeister and a lot more of us have these kids in our heart.  Don't chastise us for having their and Danny's backs.  After the crash, we faithfully sat out there for 20 years before football brought us a winner.  Some of you guys don't know what tough is...!

Come on man. What you said wasn?t a compliment. It was a backhanded shot disguised as one. I?m really not trying to call you out so much as I?m trying to defend HM, but do you really believe that the almost universal backlash of your comments are simply the collective reading comprehension skills of an entire message board?

I think by you getting hit hard with 18 smites and counting says everything about your thread.  You were way out of bounds to attack a true die hard legend like Herdmeister.  BTW, I don't think I've ever seen Champ get 18 smites in a thread and he's the board leader..

At a minimum I took the heat off of Dan for a couple of days and diverted the attention to me and many forgot about how bad our team is.

In your mind you may feel like you are commending him and having light-hearted fun, but this an example of writing stuff that comes across as just negative and in this case personal crap that is tiresome and not needed.  The disconnect between what you think you are doing and how it is received by other Herd fans is profound.

Really? I did not see it that way at all. I saw it as just like he described. Very light harded and joking. Not insulting or degrading at all. I wish I was able to do half of what HM does for MU. He was not being bashed by the OP. Now some other posters are getting butt hurt SMH?

I think he meant some would be more objectionable to the basketball team and Danny, not to Herdmeister. 

I didn't have a problem with what H2W said.  I was just replying in general to those that break HM's balls over practice reports.   He just tells what he sees and hears.  He doesn't make wild comparisons to Jon Elmore etc.  Or statements like that guy will be the best player we've ever had.  Those mostly came from a different fan, who, out of respect for what he's going through, need not be mentioned.
