Probably should be focusing on that we didn?t have a field goal in the last 2 minutes+ than a call no referee will make in that situation.

Shouldn?t be in a situation to where you are relying of the refs.
Problem is that with a 1:03 left we were up by 4 and end up losing by 2.
Piss poor defense and fouling, and missed shots by our key players.

For some reason this thread reminds me of my satirical post that Marshall Sports would be re-joining the SoCon in all sports for 2009.

It featured fake interviews with the likes of AD BM, HFBC MS, and HBBC GW. BM was "quoted" as saying, "We thought we could compete at the 1A Level, but we couldn't." MS "said" of the conference change, "We should have a chance to win at the end of every game." and GW was "quoted" as saying we could "compete with every team in the conference, except [College of] Charleston.".

I thought it was fairly witty and was pleased with mice elf.

I concluded with something like, "Rumors swirled around the Shewey that Marshall would receive fair officiating as part of the deal."

One reply was "Funny stuff. Sad."

Another went like: "I could have believed it until the part about fair officiating."    Touche  lol. So, cheer up. Things are much brighter now than in those days.

EDIT: Now I did post on the premium board that Marshall has no normal home court advantage. A sentiment echoed by coal on this board. After tonight (again) I think that is fairly obvious. I have also opined that we should have a good chance to take 2 of 3 vs. FIU, ODU and even Charlotte at home in Feb. There is no incentive to continue to "punish" Marshall to the assistance of other teams that are also leaving the Conference. Plus, just in my humble opinion, it is fairly obvious there is no need to "pile on" our bad team and hurt a great guy who happens to be 74-year old head coach that the game has passed by or is generally not or no longer qualified. Painful to watch even for the casual fan disinterested in Marshall sports. Getting to the point of embarrassment for the perps. If you can't see those things, well ...

I could never be a coach at the collegiate level. For instance, I would have pulled my team off the field at UK and forfeited a couple of seasons back after a "grand slam" that was 10 feet foul capped a huge, unheard-of type rally to defeat Marshall softball. Could well have been fired for doing something (Selfish? Take my ball and go home?) like that. But my feeling is if the game can't be played reasonably fairly why play at all. MTSU basketball (  first road "win" yet undefeated at home ) is going nowhere this season. This was just an "in-your-face-Marshall" like someone posted.

We're not going to win many being this short-handed for whatever reason. We're playing somewhere in the range of 3 or 4 on 5 due to inexperience or lack of talent. Toss in that we are making way too many stupid decisions on the court. Giving up too many easy baskets when we have to work harder to score than the opponent. NO true PG. Lack of muscle tone resulting in the ball being ripped out of players hands. Slow to loose balls. When insult is added to injury by the officiating that is what one gets - a very lengthy losing streak.
