  • are getting the weather that hit us earlier in the week. Our high one day was -3 with -30 wind chill and next day was the same.Today we got up to a balmy 9 degrees with wind chill at -17. No one cleaned off their drive ways but will probably clean them tomorrow since it's suppose to hit 20 with wind chill at 0.
Y'all stay warm and keep inside while this sub freezing temps and snow moves thru your area.

  • Funniest part is the temp will approach 70 later this week.  My sinuses already sent me a Dear John and moved to Phoenix.

  • Have been out and about both daysa, felt like summer today (compared to yesterday). Wind chill here in NKY yesterday was often -30, ran about -20 to -25 the entire day. Today, back in the house and it is a balmy, no wind, 8 Degrees F.

When I lived in Fairbanks, i saw a thermometer read -62.  That was the coldest I ever saw there.  When it would get to -20 or so, after a few weeks of sub -40, I'd fire up the grill in shorts and cookout.  It felt noticeably warmer.  It's all what your acclimated to.  Those weren't windchills, either.  Actual temps.  Fun fact:  Fahrenheit and Celsius are the same at -40 degrees.  Been there, done that.

Did you boil water then go outside and throw it up in the air?  Been in Iowa for 30 yrs and still not used to it.  -62 no thank you.
