That we now have threads talking about at large bid possibilities, winning the SB conference, so many talking positive about the basketball program when they were left for dead last year and even up until a week or two ago. I have been one to admit Danny made some mistakes not getting the right pieces and moving guys out of position trying to make things work. But at the same time I think he deserves the credit this year for the kids he brought in and how they have been playing to this point with the exciting style and hustle. Just sayin!!!

Team just needs to keep the current caliber of play going, bust, which is positive.  First real "road trip" of the Season coming up this week with the games in PA then back to NC the middle of next week.  A big test even if the opposition as a whole may just be average or so-so.

I would sure love to get that win Thursday at 7-1 Duquesne. If we play focused and with all out intensity we should get the W. Then unless we lay a big egg we should take the next 2 at RM and UNCG. That would make us 10-1 coming home to face of with a good Toledo team.

Cautiously optimistic, cautiously is still the word.  We will see in this road swing, for sure. 

I, for one, am glad the SBC has some stronger than previously given credit basketball teams in it.

One thing I keep watching in the SBC; which/what coaching hires are made?  It seems to me one can effectively judge a league by the coaches who decide they want to be a part of that level of competition, where they think they can recruit and win.  The better the resume's of the coaches, the better the league, IMHO.

That NET ranking of 60 is surpisingly higher than I expected.  Keep winning and they may have some good options at the end of the season even if we don't win the SBC.  A regular season title would be really nice to ensure that at least the NIT is a lock.

I have yet to see other SB teams play but if we continue to play like we have been , we should definitely be mentioned among the leagues favorites.  I still think the SB will only have one team in the field of 64 though. So far so good , lets keep it up .

Well, JMU just took #3 UVA to the wire, losing by 5 in Charlottesville.  Had it to a bucket with less than a minute to go.  Dukes also earlier this season played then number 1 UNC pretty tough also on the road.

Not negative at all; it's just the truth. MTSU got left out in 2018 with a 24-7 record, the most true road wins of any team in the country and a top 10 non-conference SOS with an RPI of 33.

If they can't get in I am convinced nobody in a mid major conference besides the American or A10 will get an at large bid. However, I hope I'm incorrect

The 'pod' schedule grew out of MT's snub that season.
Of course a similar circumstance didn't arise during the experiment.

I'll guarantee they looked at 7 losses more than the net ranking. That would have been their excuse. A team 30-2 with a net ranking of 50 would have a better chance than a team at 24-7 and net of #33. They know they would get more heat leaving a 30 win team out than another midmajor at 24 wins.

A little apples to oranges there...RPI was used during that season....the ratings considered for selection was changed to NET shortly before the first pod season, IIRC.

But I believe your point is valid, although I'm not convinced that #50 NET and 30-2 gets an at large from the SB or CUSA.
