  • Admitted by Danny, we didn't have the toughest row to hoe thru the OOC schedule, nevertheless we have some impressive stats to date.  Might consider that many teams also may have a lighter OOC than in-conference?

#'s are National Rankings per NCAA Statistics / As of 10:50AM 12/22/22

Handlogten - #1 in offensive rebounds, #4 in defensive rebounds, tied for #7 in blocks & #12 in blocks per game

    Kinsey - #13 in ppg (3.4 ppg behind #1)

Taylor - #28 in ppg (wish he'd get his shooting % up)

    Team stats:

    Scoring Offense - 17
Assist to Total Offense - 7
    Assists - 8
    Blocks - 19
Total rebounds per game - 2
    Offensive rebounds - 1
    Scoring Offense - 17 (JMU is #1)
    Steals 28
Winning % - 22 but 7 if count how many tied above us

  • Here's a graphic I made of SBC teams and their offensive/defensive KenPom ratings nationally as of today:

Teams toward the right have better offense. Teams toward the top have better defense.

So you're saying that ULM has a much better defense than their offense?

They're really bad at both but their Defense (295th) is slightly better than Offense (331st).

The good Defense/bad Offense teams are in the top left quadrant. Red quadrant means bad at both. Green means good at both.

AT is Aymeric Toussaint. You I assume were referring to Andrew Taylor.
He is never referred to by teammates or staff as AT. Touissaint is.
Teammates call him Drew, Danny calls him Andy while family call him Andrew

    We get it.
We all knew who he was talking about, and AT is pretty easy to type on the message board, and it's been used before with 0 problems.

I appreciate the head's up.  Those were the stats as of the time and date of posting.  I should have pointed that out and I've changed the title to reflect it.

Marshall hasn't played since 12/19.  It is now 7 days later, 12/26.  Not sure how many games the other 351 members of Division 1 have played in the meantime but it's obviously enough to make a bunch of changes in rankings.

Here is the site I refer to -> https://www.ncaa.com/stats/basketball-men/d1

Seems to me that we used to be able to click on Marshall and it would show all our rankings on one page.  Might have been football and certainly an older version of the site.  Sure made it easier to see all at a glance.

  • I wonder why the official NCAA site only ranks 352 teams when there are 363? I'm guessing transition teams like Queens and Bellarmine aren't included.

That?s correct. Transition teams are not eligible for the tournament. Stupid rule that caught Bellarmine last year. They still include them in Net Rankings.
